Description

Ever wish that you could bike through the streets of Philadelphia without needing to keep an ever-watchful eye open for cars?

One day a year, you can do just that during Bike Philly, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia’s annual, eco-friendly event in which the city’s streets are blocked off from cars, allowing bikers to ride happily and safely.

Riders from throughout the Delaware Valley will gather at Eakins Oval in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps on Sunday, September 11 at 8 a.m.

A variety of ride-lengths are available, ranging from 10 to 35 miles (only the first 20 miles of any ride will be totally car-free).

This is a wonderful event for families. Children under 17 ride at a reduced rate and the pace is slow, making it easy for young riders to keep up.

The ride culminates with the Finish Line Festival at Eakins Oval, a fun and relaxing event filled with music, food, exhibits and fun.
