Squash your qualms about the creepy, crawly world of insects during Bug Fest at the Academy of Natural Science of Drexel University.
The Academy, which has largely focused on the study of bugs since its opening more than 200 years ago, brings its insect research, discovery and collection to light during the annual weekend festival.
This year’s theme is Beauty and the Bug, taking a look at how insects have inspired art and culture. Explore the opening of the Academy’s Art of Science Gallery exhibition Pinned; Insect Art, Insect Science and speak with scientists to learn why insects are important to the environment.
Cheer on speedy cockroaches during the Roach Race 500, watch as insects create their own art, participate in a bug cook-off and more during the family-friendly fun.
