Description

Dates:
August 8 – 9, 2015

Overview

Squash your qualms about the creepy, crawly world of insects during Bug Fest at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (ANSP).

The Academy, which has largely focused on the study of bugs since its opening more than 200 years ago, brings its insect research, discovery and collection to light during the annual weekend festival.

Enjoy new bug-themed activities this year including Bug Yoga, a guided yoga class based on postures of bugs; Bug-1-1, learn about the medical world of bugs including lice, bedbugs and LIVE maggots; and Grossology: Bugs Edition, a bug-centric version of the ongoing special exhibition at ANSP.

In addition, kids and adults can once again cheer on speedy cockroaches during the Roach Race 500, watch as insects create their own art, participate in a bug cook-off and more during the family-friendly fun.

Bonus: Come dressed as your favorite bug and get $2 off regular admission.
