A true shoutout to South Philly’s sock-hoppin’ heritage, this annual fam-friendly summer event brings together revelers, food, music and some of the hottest classic American cars you’ve ever seen.
The best part: The festival, which takes place on East Passyunk Ave. between Broad and Dickinson streets, is free for attendees.
The 9th Annual Car Show & Street Festival showcases more than 140 antique, show, muscle and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles lined up
Trophies will be awarded to Top 50, Best Stock, Best Modified, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best 50’s Custom, Best Street Rod, Best Low Rider, Best Truck, Best Motorcycle, and Best of Show Car and Motorcycle. Awards are given out at 4:30pm between Tasker and Morris streets.
Food & Drink
Tasty bites will be available from East Passyunk businesses, including slices of pizza from Birra (which usually only sells whole pies), tacos al pastor from El Zarape, Montreal-style hot dogs from Noir and more.
Finally, a number of food trucks will also be in attendance. Don’t miss hot dogs from Hot Diggity, ice cream from Little Baby’s, popsicles from Lil Pop Shop and many more.
Entertainment & Shopping
Eight bands will be performing on every block throughout the day. The Bang! Boom! CRAFT! Show at the Fountain will feature handmade items from local crafters and artists.
And family activities will offer something to appeal to attendees of all ages, including circus aerials, tightrope demonstrations, stilt walkers and a free moon bounce.
The festival is only two blocks from the Tasker-Morris and Snyder stops on the Broad Street line and a few blocks from several bus lines. There is also a secure Parkway parking lot at Broad & McKean streets.
Finally, Uber is offering $20 off a first ride for new users who enter the promo code “EPACAR.”
