Graduate Hospital alfresco festival returns with food, beer, live music and family fun
May 3, 2014
1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Plazapalooza — Graduate Hospital’s annual alfresco festival — returns on May 3 with food, beer, live music, family fun and more.
It all goes down at Grays Ferry Triangle at 23rd and South Streets, where local bands will perform live, brews will flow and food will be available from local eateries in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood.
What To Look Forward To
From 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., visitors and residents alike can sit back and take in performances by the South Street Sounds Students, Odunde 365 African Dance and Drummers and more.
A number of the city’s food trucks are slated to be on hand, too. Look forward to bites from Poi Dog Snack Shop, Undrgrnd Donuts, Tacos Don Memo and local BBQ shop Phoebe’s.
Plazapalooza is sponsored by the Grays Ferry Triangles Gateway Project — an initiative aimed at enhancing Grays Ferry Avenue. Festivities surround the Catharine Thorn Fountain, which was turned on for the first time in years last spring.
This year’s Plazapalooza will serve as the launch for the brand new Grays Ferry Triangle Pedestrian Plaza, a six-month pilot project that’s turning the Grays Ferry Triangle into a pedestrian plaza complete with tables and chairs for sitting, eating and hanging, adirondack chairs for lounging, planters and more.
