Gear up for the upcoming 2016 presidential election with a new interactive and educational exhibit coming to the National Constitution Center.
Designed to take visitors from the campaign trail to Inauguration Day, Headed to the White House explores all aspects of a U.S. presidential election through a variety of mediums including multimedia, role-playing opportunities, artifact exploration and more.
Visitors will have the chance to learn about iconic historic elections such as the 1932 Franklin Roosevelt vs. Herbert Hoover showdown, and also view how elections have changed – and also stayed the same – throughout the past 200+ years.
At Headed to the White House, visitors become candidates with their own campaigns, and participants are invited to see if they have what it takes to land a seat in the Oval Office.
From practicing how to deliver a solid presidential handshake to creating your own campaign commercials using the “Ad-o-Matic” machine, numerous activities offer give guests a small, firsthand glimpse into what it’s like to be in the hot-seat of a presidential election.
The multi-part experience is designed to inform all visitors in advance of making a decision at the voting poll come Election Day, the concluding day of this special exhibit.
Coinciding also with the National Democratic Convention coming to Philadelphia this July, there’s no better time to embark on a visit to the National Constitution Center.
Hours and Ticketing Info
All ticketing prices include general admission to the National Constitution Center.
Tickets are $17.50 per adult and $11 for children ages 4-12.
For members: Tickets are free for all members of the National Constitution Center.
The Center is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
