Overview

Spend the day in West Philadelphia’s Powelton Village during the 11th annual Lancaster Avenue Jazz and Arts Festival.

From noon until 7 p.m., Saunders Park Greene at 39th and Powelton Avenue will host live performances. This year’s theme seeks to celebrate the “New Wave of Jazz”.

The Music

The festival is a great opportunity to celebrate Philly’s tremendous musical history and enjoy live jazz performances all day long. Saxophonist Jaleel Shaw will headline the day, which also includes Josh Lawrence, Matthew Clayton, V.Shayne Frederick, Lee Mo, Nazir Ebo, Phoenix Mystique and the Universal Dance and Drum Ensemble courtesy of the Mann Center for the Performing Arts.

The Food

Excellent eats are on tap for the Lancaster Avenue Jazz Festival, too. Look forward to an array of food trucks from around the city to gather at the park.
