LOVE Your Park Week
Making Philadelphia’s great public spaces even better
May 10-17, 2014
Philadelphia’s park system has more than 10,000 acres of open space including trails, streams, forest and 75 neighborhood playgrounds spread across the city. The alfresco public space is an awesome asset for residents and visitors to enjoy, but it’s also a lot to upkeep and take care of.
Enter Philadelphia’s third annual “LOVE Your Park Week,” taking place May 10 through 17 and presented by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, the Fairmount Park Conservancy and neighborhood park groups.
Outdoor events of all sort make up the weeklong event — service days, festivals, family-friendly events and much more.

“LOVE Your Park Week” kicks off with a clean up day this Saturday, May 10 at dozens of parks throughout Philadelphia. Depending on the park, various activities are slated to occur, too. Head to Clark Park for general clean up, mulching and gardening; Gold Star Park for tree panting, mulching and general clean up and more.
Beyond the clean-up day, Pennypack Park hosts a campfire complete with story time and a marshmallow roast, a party in Clark Park promises food, a beer garden, music and games, Hawthorne Park hosts an evening of free jazz and much more.
