The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society welcomes the fall season during the annual PHS Fall Festival at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Toast the start of autumn with crafts and goods at the Franklin Flea, shop for home décor at the Fall Festival Marketplace or enjoy an adult beverage at the on-site beer garden featuring brews from Yards Brewery Co.
Highlights at the family-friendly event include the PHS Kids Zone featuring races, crafts and activities for children of all ages; the PHS City Harvest Market with fresh produce available from local gardens; and the Fall Festival Marketplace with tools, garden accessories and colorful plants for fall available from the PHS Meadowbrook Farm in Abington Township.
Those with a green thumb can face-off in “Garden Giants,” where massive vegetables and pumpkins take center stage, or show-off their arranging skills during the “Garden Bounty” contest.
The festival also includes a preview of the 2015 Flower Show, which will focus on the silver screen for “Lights, Camera, Bloom!”
The PHS Fall Festival coincides with Franklin Flea at the Navy Yard, featuring upscale vendors selling vintage and handmade items.
Admission to the PHS Fall Festival is free and free on-site parking is available.
