The Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing is home to free, alfresco concerts on Friday nights, and certain Saturdays, all summer long. From jazz to gospel to R&B, the Summer Concert Series has something for every music lover.

The Philadelphia Orchestra Free 2012 Neighborhood Concert

Date: July 27
Time: 8 p.m.

Spend a relaxing evening on the river with a free performance from the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra followed by the Friday Night Lights fireworks display.

Smooth Jazz Summer Nights

Dates: August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31

The sounds of Smooth Jazz artists will fill the air on the RiverStage at Penn’s Landing every Friday night in August starting at 7:30 p.m. For the 15th anniversary season, each performance during Smooth Jazz Summer Nights will be capped off with a fireworks display south of the RiverStage at about 9:15 p.m.

Scheduled performers include Carol Riddick, I+ONE featuring Patrice Rushen and Ndugu Chancler, Cindy Bradley, Oleta Adams and Shelia E.
