The Great Philadelphia Hoagie Debate Poll & Sweepstakes
Vote in our hoagie poll and enter to win a year’s supply of hoagies!
Philadelphia is a city of tradition, especially when it comes to food. Hoagies are held to a high standard in the city, especially since being declared the “official sandwich of Philadelphia” by Mayor Ed Rendell in 1992 at Wawa Hoagie Day at City Hall. Slight variations are accepted, but for a hoagie to be authentic it must feature: a roll, meat, cheese, topping (lettuce, tomato, etc.) and dressing (oil and vinegar, etc.).
We want to know your favorite part of a Philadelphia hoagie. Vote in our poll below about what’s most important to an authentic Philadelphia Hoagie and you can enter for a chance to win a year’s supply of hoagies. Click here for official rules and regulations.
