Start at the Center

Located in Independence Mall at 6th and Market Streets, the Independence Visitor Center is the perfect place to begin your visit to the Philadelphia region. The Visitor Center is just a stone’s throw from some of Philadelphia’s most popular attractions, including the new Liberty Bell Center, Independence Hall and the National Constitution Center.

Thanks to the Visitor Center’s friendly and knowledgeable concierge staff, you’ll get a free comprehensive orientation to the culture, history, shopping and dining options available throughout the Greater Philadelphia region in an environment that is welcoming and convenient. After stopping at the Independence Visitor Center, you will know where to go, what to see and how to get there.

Independence Hall

The Independence Visitor Center is the exclusive pick-up location for free, timed tickets to Independence Hall. These tickets streamline your visit and give you more time to see Philadelphia. No tickets are required during the months of January and February. You will need a ticket from March 1 to December 31. On July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day, no tickets are required.

Walk-up tickets are available at the Visitor Center for free on the day of your visit, starting at 8:30 am. The first tour starts at 9:00 am. You may request tickets for any available time, on the day of the visit only. You have the greatest choice of times during the first two hours of the day (8:30 to 10:30 am). Please plan to arrive at the Visitor Center early during the busy summer season.

Food + Drink

In Philly, we sure love great food and hot coffee. For the best refreshments during your visit at the Visitor Center, Café Independence serves up tasty treats including soft pretzels crafted in South Philadelphia and authentic Italian hoagies

Open April through October, the Crosswalk Cafe is the ideal setting to take in views of Independence Hall and Philadelphia’s historic district. Located in the heart of Independence Mall, take a break from sightseeing with delicious cafe bites, hand-crafted beers and savory wines.

Liberty View Ballroom

Planning an upscale affair? A Philly food fest? An international feast? Consider hosting your event at the Independence Visitor Center’s Liberty View Ballroom. Located on the mezzanine level overlooking Independence Hall, the contemporary ballroom and spacious terrace provide the perfect setting for a memorable event.
