A Ziptrip to Ambler

A destination for those seeking cultural richness — all packed into one square mile

The definition of a small town, Ambler covers less than one square mile, but despite its diminutive size, it’s amazingly complete, with a host of shops, restaurants, bars and special events that keep the streets bustling. Unassuming and unpretentious, Ambler has retained an historic gentility and independent spirit that are the pride of this tightly knit community. Stroll down Main Street today, toward Reiff’s Mill Road, and you will come to one of the oldest houses in Ambler Borough, the home of Mary Ambler. She was a community-minded woman who led the rescue and nursing of the survivors of a train wreck in 1856 — and Ambler is named for her.

Craving more or just need a good honest chuckle before the day's end? The Stoogeum is the world's only museum commemorating the comedy antics of the Three Stooges with nearly 100,000 pieces of memorabilia, including personal effects of all the Stooges, movie posters and costumes, as well as continuously running movie clips in an 85-seat theatre.
