Richards Medical Research Building
Louis I. Kahn (1957-1961)
Description
Considered to be one of the most significant examples of modern American architecture, Richards was the first expression of Kahn’s concept of servant and served spaces, each given its own form and expression. Glazed open work areas are juxtaposed with brick-clad vertical towers that contain mechanical equipment and circulation.
