Philadelphia’s preeminent music and culture showcase returns to Ogontz Avenue during the annual the annual West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival. The 2011 festival will feature three days of non-stop music on two outdoor stages.
Celebrating global, national and regional diversity, this year’s festival features award-winning artists, internationally acclaimed musicians playing alongside up and coming regional talent.
Performers include: Gerald Veasley, the Philadelphia Freedom Jazz Orchestra, The Rodney Mack – Philadelphia Big Brass, Men of Soul and Chaka Khan.
Be sure to check out the festival Marketplace featuring hand-crafted artwork, jewelry, clothing, paintings and more created by artists from around the country.
Once you’ve built up an appetite, head to the food area and sample cuisines from around the globe.
Children’s Day
The newest addition to the West Oak Lane Jazz and Arts Festival, Children’s Day features live performances, music workshops, a video game arcade and plenty of fun for the entire family.
Free Shuttle Service
Free shuttle buses will transport festival attendees from the Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market Streets) to the festival.
