Chaddsford Winery
Enjoy a fine wine in gorgeous Chester County
Description
The Experience
Bring your own picnic and enjoy the charming country atmosphere of this Chester County vineyard, as well as tours, tastings and sales of premium regional wines.
And visit the winery on Friday nights for outdoor concerts, featuring lively music from jazz and swing to big band and oldies.
It started more than two decades ago as a renovated 17th-century barn turned small winery, with emphasis on the small outputs. But add a grape-friendly microclimate in the historic Brandywine Valley to a passion for making wine, and you’ve got the recipe for critical acclaim and 30,000 cases being sold all over the East Coast.
Now owning the distinction as the biggest winery in Pennsylvania, the Chaddsford Winery is nestled in the heart of the scenery that painter Andrew Wyeth made famous.
International awards, such as the Tasters Guild International Wine Competition Gold Medal, keep piling in for the husband-and-wife owner team, who boast about all of their premium varieties, with special emphasis on their Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and spiced apple wine.
Expand your knowledge of wine in a casual and fun atmosphere at our monthly series of Wednesday night classes, ranging from a basic Wine 101 introduction to tastings of the world’s best regions and varieties. Swing into spring at traditional Spring Wine Tastings in April, enjoy the food as well as the wine at the July Barrel Tasting Dinner in the cellar, or meet the vintners at your favorite regional restaurant for an exciting Winemaker’s Dinner.
