Natural Lands Trust
A non-profit land conservation organization
Description
As the region’s oldest and largest land trust, Natural Lands Trust is a full-service conservation group with expertise in land protection, conservation planning and land management. The Trust owns and manages more than 40 nature preserves — totaling more than 20,000 acres — in Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, and holds conservation easements on an additional 18,000 acres.
The Trust seeks to help visitors enjoy nature while learning about diverse natural resources. Their preserves, most of which are open to the public free of charge, are models of habitat restoration and sustainable land management practices.
h2z(beta). Don’t Miss
NLT hosts guided hikes, bird walks, canoe trips and nature programs — many of them free — on many of their 40+ nature preserves.
Outsider’s Tip
Hundreds of individuals, families, institutions and communities have contributed large amounts of acreage to Natural Lands Trust, helping to realize the dream of protecting open space.
