With 400 beers on the bottle list and a rotating selection of 30 drafts flowing from its taps, Eulogy Belgian Tavern is certainly not a bar that lacks options. In fact, the Old City establishment has been declared the holder of Philadelphia's largest beer selection, with a menu full of domestic craft and international styles, including a notably rich array of offerings from Belgium, the country of inspiration behind the tavern.

The menu is also lined with classic Belgian eats, crafted by Michael Naessens, an executive chef of Belgian heritage who has spent many years living and working in the western European country and in various other parts of Europe as well.

Find Flemish frietjes (fries) with multiple sauce options, Belgian meatballs braised in a Hoegaarden demi-glace and mussels cooked with your choice of beer or wine. Burgers (beef, bean and chicken), beer-battered fish and chips and other hearty options also make up the menu.

The restaurant is owned by a Belgian-American family from Brugge, Belgium, which shines through in the cozy, dimly-lit, pub-styled atmosphere.

Insider's Tip

For those seeking a unique dining experience, make a reservation for the "coffin room." The small, secluded area in the back of Eulogy's second floor replaces traditional tables with three real-life coffins.

Note: The tables are often in high demand, so be sure to a reservation in advance if you want to try one out.
