Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant
Brewery micro-chain has inviting beer, great food and awards galore
The award-winning Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is the kind of place where old friends can enjoy a round of brews at the billiards tables, or dine on seared ahi tuna and prime rib.
The Brewery, which opened its first location in Newark, Delaware in 1996, takes its name from a historic Revolutionary War landmark in that state. In the 18 years since, Iron Hill has opened 10 more locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including one in Chestnut Hill.
The Brewery hangs its hat on producing distinctive, full-flavored handcrafted beers, accompanied by inspired yet informal New American cuisine in a comfortable, casual atmosphere.
The menu typically features an extensive array of light fare and small dishes, wood-oven pizzas, vegetarian selections, salads and entrées that cover a variety of cuisines from ethnic to hearty comfort foods.
Iron Hill has won a heck of a lot of awards at both the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup, including the “World Beer Cup 2014 Champion Brewery and Brewmaster” in the Small Brewpub category, marking the third consecutive time Iron Hill has been named the best small brewpub in the world.
Though Iron Hill’s house brews are consistent across all locations, its seasonal beers change weekly at each location. Hit up each location for some alternate beers.
