Serious sandwiches with Italian influence
The second location of Northern Liberties’ gourmet Italian sandwich shop resides in heart of the Italian Market. Among the bread-swaddled options: roasted suckling pig adorned with long hots, sharp provolone and broccoli rabe, as well as fried lasagna topped with a fried egg.
These are not your average hoagies, with succulent selections like the Daddy Wad, a spin on a traditional Italian hoagie with mortadella, Genoa salami, sopressata, cappacolla and prosciutto di Parma and the namesake Paesano, beef brisket topped with roasted tomatoes, pepperincino, sharp provolone and a fried egg.
Bon Appetit has also ranked Paesano’s Artista, made with whole roasted suckling pig, Italian long hots, broccoli rabe and sharp provolone, among the top three dishes under $10.
