Philadelphia Carriage Company
Ride through the streets of Philadelphia like they did in Colonial times
Description
One of the nation’s oldest carriage companies, Philadelphia Carriage Company wants to show you Philadelphia the way it was always meant to be seen — by horse-drawn carriage. All their horses are draft horses from Lancaster County, PA, are able to pull up to five times their own weight and work no more than 40 hours a week.
The carriages are made in a style that was popular in France during the early 1800’s, and are just the sort of thing that Benjamin Franklin would have ridden in during his years as Ambassador to France. The carriages are convertible, so if it starts to rain, just a little quick work on the part of the driver will keep you nice and dry.
Tours start at $30. Even rides are $100 for an hour, $65 for half an hour.
