The story of America’s fight for independence often focuses on military battles fought and won, with little celebration of the vital contributions of skilled civilians who supported the cause.

Greater Philadelphia’s stable of surgeons stitched up wounded soldiers, tailors and shoemakers outfitted the regiments, farmers fed the troops and gunsmiths kept the ammunition coming.

Immerse yourself in these stories of support at Made by Philadelphia: Supplying the Revolution, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Museum of the American Revolution.
