Craft Beer and Breweries in Greater Philadelphia

A real beer drinker’s town since the very beginning, Philadelphia has played — and still plays — a crucial role in America’s beer scene.

The Greater Philadelphia area’s breweries — more than 90 in all, with more than 120 individual locations — continue to rack up accolades from big-name publications like Travel + Leisure, Frommer’s and GQ. That’s thanks to big-name mainstays like Sly Fox, Victory and Dock Street as well as an ever-growing list of buzzy spots, including Forest & Main, 2SP, Crime & Punishment and Levante.

Beer bars and beer gardens? Philly has tons. Raise a pint at renowned beer bars like Monk’s Café, Local 44 and City Tap House; amid the plants at the lush PHS Pop Up Gardens; and at beautiful seasonal hotspots like Spruce Street Harbor Park and Parks on Tap.

And beer-related events and festivals fill the calendar year over year, led by the annual Philly Beer Week, when thousands of suds-heavy events take over the region for 10 days in May and/or June.

Plus, the region’s dense brewery and brewpub scene is just the beginning of a fun exploration of everything that Greater Philadelphia has to offer. Below, find articles about museums, attractions, parks, bars, restaurants and more that all pair well with a pint or two.
