A giant, glowing German Christmas Pyramid lights up LOVE Park to welcome shoppers this year at the annual open-air Bavarian holiday marketplace Christmas Village in Philadelphia.

More than 100 vendors set up in wooden stalls offering gifts, ornaments, accessories and wintry apparel along with tasty treats like raclette sandwiches, spiced wine, apple cider, strudels and more.

Check out the event’s Festival of Trees inside the LOVE Park Visitor Center, while across the street at City Hall, find more vendors, a 65-foot Ferris wheel and the double-decker Christmas Village Carousel.

Since 1956, thousands of dancing snowflake-, candy cane- and snowman-shaped lights have illuminated Wanamaker’s Grand Court, accompanied by the world-renowned Wanamaker Organ. Despite the closure of the historic Wanamaker Building’s most recent tenant — Macy’s — the (holiday) show must go on, with the return of both the newly named Wanamaker Light Show and Dickens Village.

New this year: Grab some great gifts at the Vendor Village brought to you by the Christmas Village in Philadelphia. The brand-new indoor holiday market in the Wanamaker Building Grand Court features handmade gifts and hand-crafted, artisanal goods.

The shops and businesses along Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill offer extended hours and free samples throughout the season during Holidays on the Hill.

Enjoy the music of a brass quartet (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.) during extended hours on Wednesday nights while you stroll the avenue decked out in holiday cheer. You may even spot Santa along the way!

Other holiday happenings include a holiday edition of First Friday on December 5, 2025.

A companion to the annual Wintergarden and Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink & Cabin during Winter at Dilworth Park, the popular market returns as a beacon for holiday-inspired goods and gifts, transforming the park on the west side of City Hall into an extravagant winter wonderland.

You’ll find more than 40 artisans selling handmade crafts, jewelry, treats and more from wooden booths decked in white (the event’s signature color) and topped with glowing Moravian stars.

Delaware County welcomes a new vendor market throughout the 2025 holiday season, where visitors can pick up gifts from local merchants, nosh on snacks from local food trucks and enjoy family-friendly entertainment.

Part of Delco for the Holidays, the Delco Fare & Flair Nights sets up in Rose Tree Park select nights in December from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Celebrate both Christmas and St. Lucia’s Day during the Lucia & Christmas Market at FDR Park’s American Swedish Historical Museum, the oldest Swedish-American museum in the world.

The marketplace, held in a heated tent outside the museum, features all manner of decorations and gifts, as well as favorite holiday deli items and bakery treats from the Swedish Women’s Educational Association.

Also on-site: the Swedish Christmas Café, offering holiday foods and sweets, live holiday music by the Last Chance duo, and twice-daily Lucia children’s program performances in the Grand Hall.

North America’s oldest botanical garden, the 50-acre Bartram’s Garden hosts the free Handmade Holidays artisan and vendor marketplace to brighten up the garden for local artists, makers and the community.

Check off that gift list, but also make it a full day of hands-on family fun with s’mores-making by the firepit, a DIY wreath-making station, a stilt-walking performance by Sistah Mafalda, kids’ story time, natural tree decorating, tours of the historic Bartram house and even a yummy pie-baking contest.

Merry Christmas in Kensington! Olde Kensington Boutique and Philadelphia Brewing Company come together for the fifth year to celebrate with a holiday gift market, craft beer and festive fun where more than two-dozen local artists and makers gather on the brewery’s second floor and outside in the beer garden.

Fill that gift basket and enjoy live local music, local beer and cider, steaming hot chocolate, and make-and-take ornaments. For great non-Santa selfie ops, visit The Grinch photo booth (1 to 3 p.m.) or track down Krampus roaming the grounds after the sun sets.

It’s a day of weihnachtsfreude (Christmas joy) at The German Society of Pennsylvania’s annual Christkindlmarkt, located right next door (and on the same day) as the Winter Holiday Market at ​The Latvian Society (see below).

Enjoy holiday shopping at the traditional Bavarian holiday market with dozens of festive booths offering baked goods, gifts, crafts, advent calendars, cards and more. After you check everyone off your shopping list, enjoy carol sing-alongs, kids’ crafts and a visit from Santa, along with hot meals and kaffee und kuchen (traditional German coffee and cake) for sale.

Located in Chinatown, the Asian Arts Initiative (AAI) serves as a neighborhood arts center central to the Philadelphia AAPI community serving underrepresented artists and using art to harness a collective spirit.

Each year, the AAI hosts the Community Fair, back once again with its all-ages arts and crafts market tha highlights work from the institution’s youth programs (including the Youth Arts Workshop and Youth Leadership Initiative), plus more local artists and makers.

One of Chester County’s most interesting historical attractions, Historic Sugartown is a preserved 19th-century village offering a glimpse into early American life with tours of restored buildings, an in-depth museum and more.

Returning once again to celebrate the season is the Historic Sugartown Holiday Craft Market, featuring more than 40 local crafters and artisans. Your $10 entrance fee (free for kids under 18) also grants access to the pay-as-you-go biergarten from Locust Lane Craft Brewery, Grace Winery and Chaddsford Winery, food trucks and a hot cocoa bar.

The Latvian Society of Philadelphia (aka Philadelphia Society of Free Letts), established in 1892 by Lettlanders fleeing Tsarist Russia, has been presenting its popular Winter Holiday Market for more than six decades.

Peruse European holiday gifts created by skilled artisans from the East Poplar-based guild — the oldest such organization outside of Latvia — while enjoying Baltic treats like pīrāgi (bacon buns) and piparkūkas (gingerbread cookies), a European style buffet in the bistro, as well as a selection of international beers and spirits in the retro pub.

Get your festive rox off at the Happy Holidays from Rox in the city’s Roxborough neighborhood.

Begin the holiday celebration at Roxborough Pocket Park on Saturday, December 6, 2026, from 12 to 6 p.m. with a tree-lighting ceremony (at 5:30 p.m.)  and an artisan market all day with local, hand-made wares.

Don’t forget your ugliest holiday sweater for a chance to win the Ugly Holiday Sweater contest at 1:30 p.m. Or set out on a Snowflake Scavenger Hunt throughout Ridge Avenue shops to win prizes. Santa arrives via fire truck at 3 p.m. for photos and lots of holiday fun.

Philadelphia’s Bok Building, a former school-turned-makerspace in East Passyunk, serves as a creative hub in the city. In addition to the Trans Art Winter Market (see below), the Bok hosts two holiday markets this season:

• Fiber Craft Holiday Market: Calling all crafters and fiber-arts lovers. The third annual fiber craft market features more than 50 vendors and offers textiles in all their myriad forms, including yarn, craft kits and dyers and spinners, as well as fiber art, jewelry and wearable handmade goods. The market is free to enter (Saturday, December 6, 2025, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
• Made @ Bok Winter Market: The Made @ Bok Winter Market showcases the artists and designers based within the building. Entry is free to the market in the West Gym, where attendees can shop everything from sustainable fashion and hand-blown glass to fine-crafted jewelry. Don’t miss demonstrations by resident artists as well (Saturday, December 13, 2025, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Back by popular demand for a second year: the Oaks Christmas Market at the Valley Forge area’s Greater Philadelphia Expo Center.

Held at the area’s second-largest convention center, the market hosts more than 300 crafters and vendors in Hall C with free admission and parking.

If you’ve got little ones with you, check out the free Kid’s Korner activities that include coloring pages, postcards for Santa and a BYO camera photo station.

December 6-7 & 13-14, 2025

Held at The Creamery, Chester County’s historic milk plant turned community space, the free Kennett Square Holiday Village Market offers more than 40 vendors selling artisan and vintage wares in a cool environment.

The curated shopping experience also features family-friendly activities like balloon twisting and face painting, as well as visits with Santa. And guests can enjoy handcrafted warm drinks and cocktails while you shop to your heart’s content.

The parking lot is reserved for accessible vehicles and drop-offs, but a free shuttle runs to and from ​downtown Kennett Square.

University City gets into the holiday shopping spirit with the uCity Square Holiday Fest on the central Lawn at uCity Square, at the heart of the mixed-use innovation hub on the Drexel University campus.

The all-ages event features gift shopping with local vendors, a craft-and-sip workshop (free sign-up via Eventbrite), photos with Santa (from 4 to 6 p.m.), the uCity Square Beer Garden, food, live music and West Philly’s only holiday tree-lighting ceremony. RSVP for free via Eventbrite.

For one day each year in December, the tiny farm known as Germantown Kitchen Garden transforms into a bustling holiday market, featuring wares from more than 50 local makers and creators, as well as handcrafted, natural wreaths or other greens to decorate your home.

Need a break from exploring the rows of handmade gift items? Grab a snack or a warm cup of coffee or cocoa to sip around the fire pit.

The open-air market happens rain or shine with no fee to enter.

Experience award-winning holiday shopping during the Handmade Market at circa-1898 non-profit community art school Fleisher Art Memorial in Bella Vista. The indoor juried craft market highlights local vendors and artists from the El Mercado Cultural program, focusing the entrepreneurial needs of the Philly Latino community.

In addition to perusing all the great handmade and artisanal prints, jewelry, ceramics, apparel and more for sale, Fleisher’s 127th annual Adult Student Exhibition will also be on display, with most works also for sale. Tiffany Murphy, chief creative officer at Art & Soul Gallery and Boutique, serves as the juror this year.

You’ll find tons of festive holiday cheer in Chester County each December, and the West Chester Christkindlmarkt makes for a great spot to cross off items on your holiday shopping list.

Held in downtown West Chester along closed-to-traffic Gay Street (between Darlington Street and Matlack Street), the free-to-browse four-block-long outdoor holiday market features more than 100 vendors offering individually handcrafted and locally designed products and gifts, including art, crafts, ceramics, jewelry, homewares and more, plus plenty of holiday food and drink for sale.

Enjoy live music and caroling while you shop, get photos with Santa (2 to 4 p.m.) and watch out for that sneaky Grinch.

It’s a neighborhood-wide winter market — but gamified!

Get started at the Northern Liberties Holiday Shopping Stroll & Pop-up Market by picking up a punch card at the former Heritage building (914 N. 2nd Street).

Then visit one of 14 participating Northern Liberties businesses and get a punch (no purchase necessary, 21 or over). Collect punches as you explore, then return your cards to the pop-up market for a chance to win prizes.

Take a break from shopping at Laser Philly’s Winter Wonderland for family-friendly holiday activities and photos with Santa. Head over to the NLNA Community Center (700 N. 3rd Street) afterward for a gift-wrapping station.

A tradition six years running, the Trans Art Winter Market highlights trans, non-binary and gender expansive artists and makers in Philly.

A suggested $5 entrance fee gives you access to the event (though no one will be turned away for lack of funds). Guests find artisan vendors and a celebration of artistic trans creativity, community and joy in an environment where trans artists can be surrounded by their peers.

Note that masks and negative COVID-19 tests are required for entry.

The annual West Craft Fest Holiday Edition — a companion to the organization’s spring event and West Philadelphia’s largest art and craft fest — returns in 2025, this year held outdoors at Black Hound Clay Studio West.

Explore handmade holiday gifts — including artisan jewelry, hand knits, ceramics, homewares, art, ornaments, candles, calendars and more — at booths from more than 50 artisans and creators on Saturday. Then come back and check out more than 50 different vendors on Sunday. All vendors at the indoor-outdoor market create their own original items by hand or by machine.

Philly favorite alternative marketplace Punk Rock Flea Market opens its doors for three days this year at 23rd Street Armory in Rittenhouse Square. The night market runs from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday night, with open hours on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shop for all your indie gifts — including vintage clothing and concert tees, vinyl records, crafts, art, posters and plenty of “old punk junk” — for family and friends. The $10 entry (kids 12 and under free) is good for the entire weekend, so come back for a brand-new lineup of vendors each day.

Decemberfest along Germantown Avenue in Mt. Airy offers a festive shopping stroll this year, with music, food and drink, Santa, an ice-sculpting demonstration and of course, plenty of shopping.

Shops all along the drag (from Allens Lane to Horter Street) offer refreshments and tons of holiday specials. It’s about a 20-minute stroll (one mile) if you cover the entire stretch.

Also on the docket: s’mores around fire pits and a visit from Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Philadelphia-themed gift boxes make sharing Brotherly Love easy with friends across the country or Philly expats in other cities (or just yourself).
