Every year, the Philadelphia Auto Show fires up its engines and heads to the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The ticketed, can’t-miss winter event — which dates back to 1902 — features tons of cool cars on display, test-drive opportunities (both outside and inside the venue) and more.
Attendees have the opportunity to view hundreds of vehicles, with most major manufacturers represented, from Toyotas and Chevys to McLarens and Alfa Romeos. Visitors can even pop open the hoods and hop inside most of the vehicles.
The Philadelphia Auto Show typically takes place each January.

The action kicks into high gear on Auto Show Eve with the Black Tie Tailgate, a swanky cocktail party on the exhibition floor.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of culinary creations, an open bar, live music and full access to the entire show and all displays and exhibits.
Available for purchase on the Auto Show’s website, general admission tickets grant access for any one day throughout the show’s run. Discounts are available for seniors, veterans and groups.
The SEPTA Metro L line drops commuters one block south of the Convention Center’s Arch Street entrances via the 11th Street or 13th Street stations. Riders on the B line can get off at City Hall and walk two blocks east on Market Street to enter the Pennsylvania Convention Center between 11th and 12th streets.
Those coming in by train from the suburbs can easily access the Pennsylvania Convention Center via the connected Jefferson Station. Attendees driving into Center City have plenty of parking options available.
The Convention Center’s prime location makes taking in some other sites and attractions a breeze. The center sits on the edge of Philly’s Chinatown, home to plenty of AAPI-owned restaurants and boutiques, along with the famous Friendship Gate arch.
Conventiongoers who want to grab a snack or meal can head across the street to the iconic Reading Terminal Market — one of the nation’s oldest and largest public markets — a food hall with dozens of vendors, from restaurants and bakeries to ice creameries and delis, both sit-down and on-the-go.

The historic sites and history museums of Old City — including the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the African American Museum in Philadelphia and the National Constitution Center — sit a short walk or shorter rideshare to the east.
And the museums along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway lie a few blocks west, where you’ll find the Philadelphia Art Museum, The Franklin Institute and the Barnes Foundation.
