Parking Deals in Philadelphia
Every parking deal that’s fit to print
With street parking rates in Center City at $2/hour, parking garages and lots can sometimes be a better deal. All the following deals are courtesy of the Philadelphia Parking Authority unless noted otherwise.
On-Street Parking Deals
On Wednesday evenings, meter parking is free in Center City after 5 p.m. (on the rush hour streets, it’s free after 6:30 p.m.). The boundaries are from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River and from Bainbridge Street to Spring Garden Street.
There is no enforcement of parking meters on major holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving, Easter, 4th of July, Labor Day and Memorial Day). On all other holidays, the PPA tickets unpaid meters.
Every Saturday between Thanksgiving and Christmas, all metered parking is free after 11 a.m.

Airport Parking
The $11 Philadelphia International Airport Economy lot fee is a flat daily fee that includes the 20% parking tax and free bus shuttle service to and from the terminals.
For those of you who like to leave your car in long-term parking when you travel, the Philadelphia Airport offers complimentary services like battery jump-starting for cars that lose their charge.
Neighborhood Parking Permits
Many Philadelphia neighborhoods have permit-based parking to ensure that residents are able to find legal parking near their homes. However, this can make things tricky when those residents have house guests who drove into town.
The PPA sells guest neighborhood permits to residents. They can be purchased at the PPA office (3101 Market Street, 2nd Floor, Mon-Fri between 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.). Temporary Permits cost $15 for 15 days; Day Permits cost $35 for a pack of 5 permits. You have up to one year from date of purchase to utilize the Day Permits.
