Authentic cheesesteaks, hoagies and more in Philadelphia’s Historic District
For nearly 75 years, Campo’s has been serving up top-rated Philly cheesesteaks and hoagies to the hungry masses.
Located in Philadelphia’s Historic District just three blocks from Independence Mall, Campo's crafts tasty sandwiches using recipes handed down through three generations.
Campo's is the official cheesesteak of the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Sixers, and offers a signature cheesesteak called "The Heater" made with hot sauce, hot pepper cheese and jalapeno peppers.
The restaurant offers a wide menu of iconic Philly foods like their renowned hoagies, and their house-roasted Italian Pork as. well as several gluten-free and vegan alternatives to their sandwiches. Local beer is available as well.
And don't forget to finish off your meal with a homemade cannoli!
If you're lucky enough to go to Campo's while Mrs. Campo is making her homemade meatballs, you might be able to snag one right out of the oven!
Ambrose Campo originally opened in 1947 as a neighborhood corner butcher shop.
In 2001, his son moved the operation downtown to 2nd and Market streets and is still slicing rib-eye and pork shoulders the way his father did — and his father did.
