Overview

Center City becomes Holiday Central each year when Christmas Village in Philadelphia sets up shop.

This free-to-attend annual tradition transforms Philadelphia’s iconic LOVE Park, as well as the courtyard and north apron of City Hall, into an authentic European holiday market, featuring 120 rustic wooden cottages trimmed with thousands of festive lights and housing vendors of every variety.

Throughout the market, guests peruse gift-able goods from around the world while enjoying events and live entertainment (with cups of hot cocoa, honey mead or warm mulled wine in hand).

Inside the LOVE Park Visitor Center, a gorgeous collection of holiday trees inspires wonder, and Santa Claus makes regular stops.

Located just across the street, the City Hall extension of Christmas Village features more vendors and a double-decker carousel in the building’s courtyard. And on the north apron of City Hall, families can find the return of the ever-popular Ferris wheel, Kids Train and other all-ages fun.

The 2025 Christmas Village in Philadelphia takes place from November 27 through December 24, 2025 — Thanksgiving Day through Christmas Eve — with a preview weekend on November 22 and 23, 2025.

What to Expect

Inspired by Europe’s centuries-old tradition of open-air Christmas markets and brought to life by a team from Germany, Christmas Village in Philadelphia is a beloved, annual outing for families, couples and holiday gifters alike.

Returning for its 18th season, the market — made up of dozens of illuminated wooden booths spanning LOVE Park and City Hall — offers seasonal gifts, pay-as-you-go rides and food (brats and raclette, anyone?), a German beer garden with exclusive local craft brews, themed weekends, live music and performers, and a full schedule of events, including a visit from the fairy-like Christkind and cameos by St. Nick himself.

Over 120 vendors offer their signature wares and holiday merch throughout Christmas Village, including ornaments, jewelry, handmade toys, high-quality arts and crafts, wintry apparel, and edible and drinkable treats. Vendors range from local crafters to world-famous ornament makers like Käthe Wohlfahrt.

On the LOVE Park side of the market, the free Festival of Trees (December 1 to 24, 2025) overlooks the festive happenings from inside the Visitor Center at LOVE Park. Duck inside to warm up a bit, admiring the holiday trees trimmed by expert decorators, and snap your annual pic with Santa.

Plus, it’s impossible to miss LOVE Park’s new Christmas Village centerpiece: the Pyramid, a massive glowing tower inspired by the rotating windmill-like Christmas structures from the Ore Mountains region of Germany (more on that below).

Over on the City Hall side, the North Broad section transforms into a magical winter wonderland for kids and families, with a 65-foot-tall (!) illuminated Ferris wheel, a Kids Train and special appearances by the attraction’s official mascot, Phil the Reindeer.

Can’t get enough shopping? The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market — 100 feet away at Dilworth Park — features 40 more jewelers, designers, bakers, toymakers, artisans and more, all peddling holiday-inspired goods (November 14, 2025 through January 1, 2026).
