Collaboration Spans Football Season & Focuses On Family Celebrations & Hometown Pride

PHILADELPHIA, September 14, 2020 – It’s time to formally celebrate Philly’s chip. Thus begins a year-long partnership between VISIT PHILADELPHIA® and Herr’s, the Delaware County-based snack food company founded in 1946 and family-run ever since. With the launch timed around the 2020-2021 football season kickoff, the collaboration takes full advantage of the strongest assets of each partner — Herr’s iconic hometown snack food status and VISIT PHILADELPHIA’s deeply established and far-reaching marketing efforts.

The sponsorship focuses on values that both brands share: a deep love for Philly and what makes it unique and an appreciation of life’s celebratory moments. VISIT PHILADELPHIA will use a range of marketing tactics, including TV and outdoor advertising; digital content development and distribution; social media; PR; and, when deemed safe, in-person experiences. Some of the more playful campaign ideas in the works include chip-tasting and snack-themed public art events, along with a promotion around National Potato Chip Day (March 14). Herr’s will also have a presence in VISIT PHILADELPHIA’s two popular productions, Philly Live Weekends and the Love + Grit podcast.
