Tripadvisor has spent the last 12 months collecting reviews and counting ratings from travelers visiting locales around the nation (and world).

Only awarded to the top 1% of destinations nationwide, Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best 2025 Travelers’ Choice Award-winners demonstrate the highest level of excellence in travel, as seen by a high volume of “above-and-beyond opinions” from Tripadvisor travelers.

Spoiler alert: Philly’s among the best of the best. (But you knew that, didn’t you?)

With only 25 sites named to the coveted list, Philadelphia earns its place alongside other prominent cities like New York City, New Orleans and Nashville.

The award celebrates Philadelphia’s rich history, vibrant culture and top-rated attractions, affirming its status as a must-visit city in 2025 and beyond.

Philly’s highly ranked history tours and museums make it easy to walk (we have an accolade for that, too!) in the Founding Fathers’ footsteps to sites like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

Plus, premier museums, like The Franklin Institute and Rodin Museum, and Philly’s acclaimed dining scene simply call for a weekend — at minimum.

Behind them, the museum's elegant stone archway and lush greenery frame a lively scene of people mingling and relaxing around tables and a reflecting pool. And you better make it a long one in 2025: With global events, significant cultural openings and more on the horizon, this year is poised to be an exciting time for the city.

This, friends, is where you take notes.

Among the major events rocking the city in 2025 is FIFA Club World Cup 2025. This summer, Lincoln Financial Field serves as one of a dozen venues nationwide hosting the international competition for club soccer teams from the six continental federations, including Real Madrid (Spain), Manchester City (England) and Pachuca (Mexico).

The Benjamin Franklin Parkway, home to many top-rated attractions, gains another gem with the highly anticipated opening of the Calder Gardens, a gallery and garden dedicated to influential 20th century artist — and native Philadelphian — Alexander Calder.

And this year, the lead-up to America’s 250th birthday amps up as events, like the Homecoming 250 celebration honoring the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, officially kick off and the Semiquincentennial announcements continue to roll out.
