Overview

Gaining national recognition for the superb technique of its dancers and the emotional appeal of its contemporary choreography, Koresh Dance Company has been a force in Philadelphia dance since 1991.

Artistic director and founder Ronen Koresh fuses the Israeli folk dance of his childhood with modern, jazz, classical ballet and hip hop, combining high-speed movements and everyday gestures with a lighthearted blend of poignancy and humor.

Twice a year, the company performs as the resident dance ensemble of the Suzanne Roberts Theatre on the Avenue of the Arts.

Koresh Dance Company has also performed internationally in countries such as Spain, Turkey, Israel, South Korea, Mexico and Guatemala.

Don’t Miss

The Koresh School of Dance — located just off of Rittenhouse Square — serves as the Koresh Dance Company’s home and acts as a dance training center. The company hosts post-performance discussions, master classes, residencies and more to bring dance to the Philadelphia community.

Every summer, Koresh produces the dynamic multi-company Come Together Dance Festival to celebrate Philadelphia’s dance talent in a can’t-miss showcase as diverse as the city itself.

Offering dance education for all ages, the company’s school welcomes visitors every day of the week for classes in styles like jazz, bachata, ballet, hip hop and tap.
