The Independence Visitor Center functions as the exclusive pick-up location for free, timed tickets to Independence Hall, which is important because sightseers visiting between March 1 to December 31 must have a ticket. During January and February or after 5 p.m. during extended summer hours, tickets are not required.
The Visitor Center sits just a stone’s throw from some of the most popular attractions in Philadelphia’s Historic District.
While at the Center, visitors can also purchase tickets to a number of other Philadelphia attractions and museums.
The center’s gift shop sells uniquely Philadelphia souvenirs, books and apparel. Be sure to fuel up at Café Independence in the Visitor Center, featuring sandwiches, beverages and authentic Philadelphia favorites.
From April through September, the Independence Mall Café, located just outside the Visitor Center, offers the ideal setting to take in views of Independence Hall and Philadelphia’s historic district.
The al fresco café features delicious quick bites, hand-crafted beers and savory wines. Closed for renovation, it will reopen in the summer of 2018.
