Overview

One of the earliest Pride events to take place in the U.S. each year, New Hope Celebrates PrideFest connects two neighboring towns in neighboring states in a community celebration every May.

The three-day event — a joint celebration between the LGBTQ communities in New Hope, Pennsylvania and Lambertville, New Jersey — features a 700-person march across the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge on the Delaware River, making it the only Pride Parade to cross state lines.

Additional highlights include live entertainment, retail and restaurant promotions, comedy shows and more.

New Hope Celebrates PrideFest returns from May 19 to 21, 2023, with the Pride Parade and Pride Fair set for Saturday, May 20, 2023.

The Experience

The Bucks County LGBTQ community teams up with neighboring Lambertville, New Jersey to present the annual Pride week of celebrations.

Each year, more than 15,000 people attend festival events, which typically include vendor booths, community gatherings, and a variety of drag shows, musical acts, dance parties and more throughout the week.

2023 Highlights

Pride Parade 2023

The Pride Parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Lambertville City Hall — the site of New Jersey’s first same sex marriage cermony in 2013. The parade follows a route across the Delaware River into New Hope, PA.

Spectators can watch anywhere along the parade route. However, guest announcers are set up at three staging areas, which may be the best spots for viewing:

  • The Lambertville House, Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ
  • Ferry and Main streets, New Hope, PA
  • 97 S. Main Street, New Hope PA

The parade ends at the corner of South Main Street in New Hope, PA, the site of the 2023 Pride Fair.
