Elisa Ludwig

Contributing Writer

I’ve been a contributing writer for Visit Philadelphia since 2001. As a lifelong Philadelphian with a passion for food, I love nothing more than uncovering great finds in and around the city and sharing them with readers.

I studied English at Vassar College and obtained an MA in Creative Writing from Temple University. I worked for many years as a restaurant critic and journalist covering the dining, arts and culture scene in Philly for area publications. I’m also the author of five young adult novels, one of which was made into a Netflix movie set in Philly (Coin Heist).

Outside of writing, I currently run an award-winning microbakery, Care Package Bakes, which allows me to hang out at farmers’ markets and support local farmers and artisans. I currently live in Penn Wynne, Pennsylvania, with my family.
