Overview

In operation since before the turn of the 20th century, Franklin Field is the University of Pennsylvania’s historic football stadium. The annual international Penn Relays, the oldest organized relay competition in the U.S. (it began in 1895), is held here every April. The Relays bring together the best track and field athletes from high schools and colleges worldwide.

Franklin Field is the oldest two-tiered stadium in the country with a seating capacity of 52,593. The historic field is the former home of Super Bowl LII champs the Philadelphia Eagles and was also host to some of the very first Army-Navy games between 1899 and 1935.
