Koresh Dance Company
Gaining national recognition for the superb technique of its dancers and the emotional appeal of its contemporary choreography, Koresh Dance Company has been a force in Philadelphia dance since 1991.
Artistic Director and founder Ronen Koresh fuses the Israeli folk dance of his childhood with modern, jazz, classical ballet and hip hop, combining high-speed movements and everyday gestures with a lighthearted blend of poignancy and humor.
Every year, the company performs as the resident dance ensemble of the Suzanne Roberts Theatre on the Avenue of the Arts.
In the summers, Koresh produces the multi-company Come Together Dance Festival to celebrate Philadelphia’s dance talent in a dynamic showcase as diverse as the city itself.
Koresh Dance Company also often ventures abroad and has performed in over 38 states and seven countries.
The Koresh School of Dance located just off of Rittenhouse Square serves as the Koresh Dance Company’s home and acts as a dance training center for the Philadelphia community.
Offering dance education for all ages, the school welcomes visitors every day of the week in over 60 different classes. Styles range from jazz and ballet to hip hop and tap, and children’s classes, professional workshops and drop-in adult sessions for all skill levels are available. Private lessons are also offered.
