PhilaMOCA
The Philadelphia Mausoleum of Contemporary Art (PhilaMOCA) is a gallery space and performance venue located in the historic Finney & Son building, a former showroom for mausoleums and tombstones that dates back to the 1850s. The curators’ sense of humor is apparent in their selection of film, music, performance and visual art events, such as a wrestling-themed art exhibit and a Tim Burton-themed burlesque performance.
PhilaMOCA offers the local underground arts community a unique and affordable multipurpose space to showcase their work. Accolades include a “Best of Philly” award from Philadelphia magazine and a spot on the Huffington Post’s “21 Ways Philadelphia Is the Coolest City in America” list.
PhilaMOCA Temporarily Closed
In September 2019, PhilaMOCA was temporarily closed due to zoning issues. Scheduled events have been relocated. Stay tuned to PhilaMOCA’s official site and social media channels for updates on when it will reopen.
The Visit Philly Overnight Package — booked more than 190,000 times since 2001 — comes with free hotel parking (worth up to $100 in Center City Philadelphia), overnight hotel accommodations and choose-your-own-adventure perks.
