Featuring over 100 exotic and endangered species, Elmwood Park Zoo is the perfect destination for family fun.

Opened in 1924 with just a handful of white-tailed deer, Elmwood Park Zoo now welcomes more than half a million visitors a year and has grown to become one of the top destinations in the Philadelphia area.

Guests get up close and personal with majestic jaguars, hand-feed lovable giraffes, say hello to barn animals, take a zip line across bison and elk exhibits and enjoy time exploring and learning about the zoo’s unique collection of animals.

The 16-acre zoo has fun for the entire family – even a bar for guests 21 and over!

The Experience

Each section of the zoo offers a distinct atmosphere.

Treetop Adventures features more than 70 challenge games and zip lines that span up to 50 feet above the ground in the trees of the zoo – not to mention Pennsylvania’s only location to zip line over animal exhibits!

Elmwood Park Zoo welcomes more than half of a million visitors each year.

Majestic Predators transports guests deep into jungles, forests and arroyos, where they encounter various predators, including one of nature’s most elusive felines: the jaguar.

In The Bayou, visitors discover dozens of reptiles and amphibians, many rare and endangered, including Blue Poison Dart Frogs, Boa Constrictors, and Red-Footed Tortoises.

The second largest open-air eagle exhibit in the country, Eagle Canyon is home to bald eagles and golden eagles.

Playful North American River Otters entertain guests for hours inside The Wetlands, an open-air walk-through exhibit featuring pools and lush vegetation.

Amenities & More

Visitors can bring their own snacks to enjoy at the zoo’s many picnic locations or indulge in concession vendors, which offer sandwiches, wraps, salads, ice cream and more.

Guests 21 and over can enjoy exclusive drafts of craft beer provided by Prism Brewery.

Don’t Miss

Young guests can enjoy playtime at the Thomas Kimmel Playground, take a whirl on a beautiful, zoo-themed carousel, learn about the plight of the American Bison in a repurposed train caboose, hitch a ride on a pony, catch an educational program in the Zoo Bowl Theater and explore the lifecycle of a butterfly on the zoo’s Caterpillar Train.
