The PFS Roxy Theater
Run by the Philadelphia Film Society, the PFS Roxy Theater brings top independent cinema to Rittenhouse Square.
Since 1975, the historic Roxy Theater has functioned as a two-screen movie theater at 2023 Sansom Street.
Having undergone extensive renovations, including structural repairs, new seating, new screens, a digital projection system and new sound system, the theater reopened in 2013 as The PFS Roxy Theater.
The boutique theater features highly anticipated new release films, repertory cinema, and educational programs on film and filmmakers for students of any age.
The PFS Roxy is home to the Film Society’s year-round festival programming that brings a collection of the best in cinema to Philadelphia.
Screenings largely focus on independent films with many selections making their Philadelphia premieres, and some feature insightful, interactive discussions and conversations with renowned film critics, scholars, visiting filmmakers and other special guests.
