Overview

Campo’s Philly Cheesesteaks has been serving up top-rated Philly cheesesteaks and hoagies to the hungry masses since 1947.

Located in Philadelphia’s Historic District just three blocks from Independence Mall, Campo’s crafts tasty sandwiches using recipes handed down through four generations.

The restaurant offers a wide menu of iconic Philly foods, including renowned hoagies and a house-roasted Italian Pork sandwich, as well as several gluten-free and vegan alternatives.

Bonus: Delivery and catering are also available.

And don’t forget to finish off your meal with a homemade cannoli!

The Experience

Ambrose Campo originally opened the family business in 1947 as a neighborhood corner butcher shop. In 2001, his son moved the operation to Second and Market streets and the family is still slicing rib-eye and pork shoulders the same way.

If you’re lucky enough to go to Campo’s while the meatballs are being made, you might be able to snag one right out of the oven!

In addition to being a family business, Campo’s is also the official cheesesteak of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Flyers, featuring signature sandwiches — The Heater and the Flyers Ice Steak — served at the shop’s Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center outposts, respectively.
