Overview

Manayunk celebrates its diverse dining scene during the annual Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, one of the biggest events of the year in the Northwest Philly neighborhood.

The food fest — which typically takes place each year in April — features dozens of the city’s top food trucks and local vendors, alongside the shops and restaurants that line Main Street in Manayunk.

Also on the docket: business promotions and live entertainment.

The Experience

There’s a lot to look forward to at this popular fest, including:

  • rows of food and drink trucks, with a robust menu of offerings, including tacos, pizza, sweet treats and more,
  • dishes and food specials by several Manayunk restaurants, with new participants each year,
  • shopping at more than a dozen local businesses, offering jewelry, plants, home decor, apparel and more, and
  • live music from different local artists across multiple music stages.

Note that the fest is held rain or shine.

Getting There

The Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival is a completely free event with pay-as-you-go food, drink and shopping.

With several blocks closed to traffic along Main Street, parking is very limited and driving is not recommended. However, limited handicapped parking is often available.

Public transportation options include SEPTA’s Manayunk/Norristown Line, which takes riders to the Manayunk stop, just a short walk from all the fun on Main Street. SEPTA bus routes 27, 35 and 61 are also available to drop guests off mere steps from the festival.

Active types can ride into Manayunk on two wheels, biking along Kelly Drive from Center City or from anywhere along the Schuylkill River Trail.
