Opera on the Mall
Calling all seekers of free, alfresco performing arts.
Enjoy an evening at the opera in front of Independence Hall during Opera on the Mall.
Opera on the Mall is a free, big-screen HD broadcast performance from Opera Philadelphia that coincides with the marvelous opera company’s annual Festival O.
For maximum enjoyment, guests can spread out in the grass to allow for comfort throughout the show — attendees of Opera on the Mall are encouraged to pack a picnic dinner and a blanket or a low beach chair. Even four-legged friends can tag along, as long as they stay leashed throughout the performance on Philadelphia’s historic Independence Mall.
Tickets to Opera on the Mall are completely free, but online registration is required — and tickets do tend to sell out. In recent years, about 4,000 people enjoyed this free broadcasted event.
