Fishtown RiverCity Festival
Annual riverside celebration of the Fishtown neighborhood
Saturday, October 10, 2015
Noon – 6 p.m.
The annual neighborhood festival, presented by the Fishtown Neighbors Association, is a free celebration of local music, food and businesses in Fishtown.
The festivities for the 8th annual celebration kick-off with the RiverCity Fun Run, a 5k throughout the streets of Fishtown. Following the run, the festival continues complete with a beer garden, music stage and vendors in the historic park.
Guests 21 and older can enjoy beverages in the festival beer garden with a donation. In the family fun area, guests of all ages can play on an inflatable rock wall, obstacle course and moon bounce or enjoy a magic show on the festival grounds.
Food and Beer Garden
A number of the city’s most popular food trucks will line Penn Treaty Park. Craft beer — with a focus on local beer — will be available at a 21-plus tent on the festival grounds. Featured breweries include Philadelphia Brewing Company, 2nd Story Brewing Company, Kurant Ciders and Evil Genius Beer Company.
Activities For The Kids and Live Music
The RiverCity Festival promises to be a fest for folks of all ages with hula hoop demonstrations, arts and crafts, performances by Tangle Movement Arts, games, face painting and more. WXPN has curated a lineup of top local musicians like Shark Tape, Kate Faust, City Rain and Tutlie who will perform on the mainstage starting at noon. The final band will take the stage at 5 p.m.
Browse and Buy Arts and Crafts
A variety of Fishtown businesses, local vendors and community organizations will fill the festival with opportunities for retail therapy. Browse everything from jewelry and clothing to books and items for the home, and learn more about a number of community organizations that will be on site.

Registration and sign in starts at 11 a.m. and the race starts as soon as the festival does, at noon.
Getting There And Exploring The Neighborhood
Getting to Fishtown is super easy: SEPTA’s Market-Frankford subway stops at Girard Avenue and Front Street, which is only a 10-minute walk from the park. You can also rent a bike using the city’s bike share system Ride Indego and park it at the docking station at Girard Avenue and Front Street.
After (or before) the festival, explore all of the offerings of the Fishtown neighborhood — grab a beer at Frankford Hall, fill up on barbecue at Fette Sau or pop into Johnny Brenda’s for a show.
