The Porch at 30th Street Station
Fresh air and fresh fare
A new initiative spearheaded by the University City District, the Porch at 30th Street Station attracts both travelers and locals with food trucks, farmers markets and live entertainment.
Every afternoon of the workweek in the spring, summer and fall, a lively vibe welcomes commuters, residents and visitors to the urban open space adjacent to the second busiest train station in the country, 30th Street Station.
Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., food trucks park outside of the station to treat crowds to eats of all sort. Lunch-seekers can look forward to meals from such trucks as Say Cheese, Taco Mondo, Pitruco Pizza, Farm Truck, Mac Mart and more.
Live music is on the calendar with lunchtime entertainment lined up every Tuesday through Friday around noon from a wide variety of artists.
Beyond food and music, the Porch at 30th Street Station plays host to a slew of alfresco events throughout the spring, summer and fall. A number of the city’s attractions — museums, art studios, dance companies and more — host free workshops and demonstrations throughout the season.
