The Porch at 30th Street Station
Fresh air and fresh fare
The just-renovated Porch at 30th Street Station has debuted the first round of its new-and-improved features. Located at 30th Street Station, the popular outdoor space is now offering better-than-ever permanent elements that will make the Porch a go-to hangout all year round.
Guests of the Porch can look forward to greenery, seating throughout the space, permanent food-and-drink options and a great location to hang alfresco.
The Porch’s new landscaping by Groundswell Design, the team behind Morgan’s Pier, the PHS Pop-Up Garden and Spruce Street Harbor Park, is complete with a ton of greenery, permanent seating on tiered wooden platforms and overhead lighting.
The new permanent features will allow visitors to enjoy the offerings of the Porch throughout the year and into the evening, making it even more visitor friendly.
Over the next few months, a number of additional features will roll out including “Porch Swings,” custom-designed innovative swings that will dot the space with bright, eye-catching wooden seating.
The Rotisserie at The Porch
As part of The Porch, the alfresco space is now home to The Rotisserie at The Porch, a daily lunch spot serving spit-roasted fare, salads, burgers and more by Michael Schulson of Independence Beer Garden and Sampan.
The new restaurant is now open and serves food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Available food includes spit-roasted lamb, spit-roasted chicken wings, burgers, veggie burgers, watermelon salad and kale salad.
Also from Wednesday through Saturday, a beverage trailer will turn the space into a full-blown beer garden as it serves liquor and beer from 4 to 9 p.m. Available drinks include specialty cocktails like a spiked lemonade and a tequila, cilantro and agave drink, and craft beer like Yards Pale Ale, 21st Amendment Watermelon Wheat Ale and more.
