Indigenous Peoples Day weekend — October 11 to 13, 2025 — brings a handful of celebrations honoring the Lenape, the original peoples of Pennsylvania, as well as Indigenous peoples across the Americas.
Throughout Philadelphia, events showcase Native American history, culture and creativity through storytelling, traditional dance, food, art, and live music.
That includes the annual Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration at Bartram’s Garden, Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend at the Museum of the American Revolution and the 9th annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Philly 2025 at Shackamaxon (Penn Treaty) Park, all offering opportunities to learn, connect and celebrate Indigenous resilience and culture.

Old City’s Museum of the American Revolution highlights the history, culture and revolutionary impact of Indigenous people during this annual weekend celebration.
This year’s program features living-history interpreters; replicas of artifacts that once belonged to people like Tyonajanegen (Two Kettles Together), an Oneida woman who participated in a Revolutionary War battle; and more. Most of the programming is included with museum admission.

Bartram’s Garden hosts an outdoor Indigenous Peoples Day celebration with live performances, vendors, workshops and more.
On the docket: co-host Ollin Yolitzli Calmecac Aztec dance troupe, Native Nations Dance Theatre, Gente de Tierra, and appearances from community partners like Masa Cooperativa, the Clay Studio’s ClayMobile and more.
The celebration is free to attend and open to the public.

Indigenous communities from across the nation gather at Penn Treaty Park (aka Shackamaxon), a centuries-old gathering place historically used for leaders and chiefs from Indigenous tribes to meet for council.
The pay-what-you-wish festival (suggested donations are $12 for adults and $5 for children and seniors) celebrates over five centuries of First Nations history with traditional arts, storytelling, food, vendors, and more.
