Love + Grit On the Road: Miami Art Week Edition

Visit Philadelphia’s Love + Grit Podcast helped to highlight some of Philly’s top creatives in fashion, music and art in South Beach...

Love + Grit: On the Road brought a slice of Philadelphia to Miami on December 2, 2022.

Miami Art Week visitors had the opportunity to embrace the most creative parts of Philadelphia as they:

explored an audio-visual journey of Darrell Alston, owner of Bungee Oblečení Footwear, highlighting the challenges and victories that took Bungee from a shoe design hand-sketched in prison to being a breakout brand on the shelves of Foot Locker and Neiman Marcus. met Philadelphia artists Symone Salib, Lawren Alice, Alloyius McIlwaine and Tiff Davis x AmericanQueenTJD who merged art and fashion by creating custom Bungee kicks displayed onsite as sculpture, and

An Audio/Visual Journey of Darrell Alston

Ropa Bungee is a luxury sneaker and athleisure brand with a true Philly underdog story. Founder Darrell Alston began sketching shoe designs (250 of them to be exact) while incarcerated. Upon his release from prison, Alston launched the Bungee brand (a nod to his life’s many ups and downs) in 2018, weathering a number of challenges to catch the eye of supporters and execs at Foot Locker and Neiman Marcus. The stuff of sneakerhead dreams, Alston’s flashy designs are meant to be conversation starters.
