Philadelphia’s Historic District — spanning from the Delaware River to 7th Street and from Vine Street to Lombard Street — celebrates the holiday season with special events and programming spanning nearly seven weeks.
New for 2019, Historic District businesses and attractions join together to offer visitors a holiday gift that keeps on giving: the Historic Holiday Pass powered by PECO. The free pass offers discounts at dozens of museums, attractions, shops, restaurants and more to residents and visitors from November 14 – December 31, 2019.
Just download the pass (for free!) to your mobile device (or print out a copy), then head to the Historic District to experience the sights and sounds of the season — as well as great deals at participating businesses and attractions.

This museum takes a fresh, bold look at the roles of African Americans in the founding of the nation and beyond. For the holidays, the attraction hails the winter harvest by lighting the kinara and honoring the seven principles during its Kwanzaa celebration (December 26-30, 2019). Passholders get $2 off admission and 10% off gift-store purchases. 701 Arch Street.
At the home of the upholsterer credited with sewing the first American flag, visitors meet Betsy Ross herself. During the holidays, guests enjoy such festivities as a tree-lighting (December 5, 2019), a Hanukkah celebration (December 22, 2019) and Betsy's Birthday Bash (January 1, 2020). Penn’s Landing’s ice-skating rink and winter wonderland includes a lodge, arcade and confectionery cabin and views of the Ben Franklin Bridge, all available daily, November 29, 2019 - March 8, 2020. Don't miss the attraction's stupendous tree-lighting celebration (December 6, 2019), among other holiday programs and events. The site of the First Continental Congress was where feisty American colonists fanned the flames of independence. Passholders get a limited-edition notecard featuring an original watercolor of Carpenters’ Hall by local architect and Carpenters’ Company member, Rachel Schade. 320 Chestnut Street.
America’s oldest, and possibly most charming, continuously inhabited residential street is perfect for tiptoeing along the cobblestones and exploring its quaint museum. This modern museum delves into the story and impact of Jewish people in the U.S., from early settlers to history-makers. Ben Franklin’s former neighborhood, where independent shops and boutiques rule, is home to awesome shopping around the holidays.
