A savory farm-to-table meal at Talula’s Garden kicks off the return of the James Beard Foundation’s Summer Taste America culinary series with the first of 10 in-person dining experiences nationwide to support the recovery of the restaurant industry.

The delicious experience goes down Wednesday, June 23. And it comes with fresh biscuits.

Restaurateur Aimee Olexy, executive chef Charles Parker and pastry chef Jacquelyn Palillero created an irresistible three-course menu that starts with mushroom risotto and ends with a chocolate pudding cake, complete with beverage pairings and served in Talula’s Garden’s beautiful indoor/outdoor space.

The event sets the tone for similar dinners in Chicago, New Orleans, Seattle and other cities as the James Beard Foundation celebrates the return of in-person dining as part of its Open for Good Campaign, which uses 35% of the event revenue to support the continued recovery of the restaurant industry.

Sustainability comes with the territory at Talula’s Garden, where the seasonal ingredients are locally sourced (including those mouthwatering Kennett Square mushrooms).

Tickets come in pairs and run $300 a set, which includes three courses (vegan and allergen-free alternatives available), beverage pairings from Kentucky-based Rabbit Hole Distillery and a swag bag. Bonus: Because the Taste America series is presented by Capital One, diners who purchase a Capital One Access Pass using their Capital One card can unlock exclusive perks.

Head to the James Beard Foundation Taste America website to reserve your two-person dinner experience and check out our guide to the top-notch Philadelphia restaurants, chefs and bar programs the foundation has honored over the years.
