The Philadelphia skyline will shine blue on Tuesday evening beginning at 7 p.m. in honor of frontline workers, first responders and those who lost their lives to COVID-19.

The touching tribute is part of the City of Philadelphia’s reflection of the past year, which brought locals, vistors and business owners together — on the front lines and virtually — in a display of the resilience Philly is known for.

Ahead of the evening commemoration, listen for ringing church bells around the city at noon, and tune into a virtual moment of reflection at 5:30 p.m. hosted by Mayor Jim Kenney.

Philadelphians are encouraged to use the hashtag #PhillyReflects to share their own thoughts on the past year, as well as photos or videos from the moments of commemoration scheduled throughout the day.

Philadelphia first turned the skyline blue in April 2020 as an early tribute to the healthcare workers keeping the city safe. Watch below for more footage of that moving display and get more information about COVID-19 and Philadelphia here.
