The Met Holiday Plaza
Located on the bustling north side of City Hall, The Met Holiday Plaza is a hub of attractions, activities, shopping and more during Philly’s delightful holiday season.
Visitors to the plaza find a whimsical carousel, live entertainment, vendors, a pop-up restaurant and the city’s luminous, 65-foot-tall holiday tree — all in and around one of Philly’s most iconic buildings.
The activities featured in The Met Holiday Plaza are part of the Philly Holiday Festival, the city’s giant, collaborative celebration presented by One Liberty Observation Deck that includes more than 20 holiday happenings in Center City, Old City, Fairmount Park and beyond.
Many elements at The Met Holiday Plaza come together to make the public space a center for holiday cheer, including The Philly Holiday Tree, the Craft Hall Pop-Up Restaurant and ACME Winter Memories.
The Philly Holiday Tree
Powered by NRG, the city’s official holiday tree for the 2018 holiday season is trimmed with more than 2,000 lights and decorations. The largest tree to date (65 feet tall!) is also supported by a new, custom-made steel base with designs representing signature Philadelphia landmarks, portions of the city’s skyline and more than 20 of Philadelphia’s diverse neighborhoods.
Presented by Bank of America, the official tree-lighting celebration (Wednesday, November 28, 2018) is sure to draw an audience eager to see the giant, decked-out white fir light up for the first time.
