Sister Cities Park
Celebrate nature in the heart of the city at Sister Cities Park along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Located on Logan Square in front of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Sister Cities Park is a welcoming space featuring a café, boat pond, educational garden and commemorative fountain.
Young visitors can play in the Wissahickon-inspired Children’s Discovery Garden, which features winding pathways, scalable rocks and a meandering stream.
Kids can also wade in the shallow waters of the nearby boat pond complete with rentable sailboats to harness the wind.
Jets of water playfully leap from 10 spouts in the Sister Cities Fountain, which represent Philadelphia’s ten sister cities, including Florence, Italy and Tel Aviv, Israel.
To mark the historic visit by Pope Francis to the United States and Philadelphia in September 2015, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Association for Public Art teamed up to install Robert Indiana’s tremendous sculpture AMOR atop the museum’s steps on the east terrace overlooking the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
In December 2016, the six-foot-tall bilingual sculpture — “amor” translates to “love” in both Spanish and Latin — was moved and permanently installed at Sister Cities Park, just a short walk from LOVE Park.
